My closest friends in the world are Lasairan, Wendy (and her husband, Jim), Keith, and Susan. At the moment, only
Susan and Keith live in the same city as me, so I miss my other friends! But I love getting together with them when I can.
I also count among my friends (or maybe more like mentors) my former instructor Al and my former boss Jim. I see Al when
I get back to Wisconsin, but I never get to see Jim because he is too busy, even though he lives right here in the Phoenix
area. Oh well, at least there is e-mail!
Lately, too, Andy has been a good friend to me. I met him through eHarmony.com, and we have been chatting on e-mail for several months now.
There is also a gal named Ashley, from my grad-school program at ASU, whom I see from time to time.
And, I have re-connected with a couple of people I knew in high school, via MySpace and FaceBook.
One disappointing thing has been the loss of my close friend Karen, who lives in WI. She just stopped returning my e-mails,
letters, and calls, for no reason that I can think of. I miss her, especially when I go back to Milwaukee; we always used
to get together when I visited. Oh well, at least I have other friends I can count on, to help absorb the shock of the loss.
